Documenting 2009 one picture a day! I will be shooting with a variety of camera's for this project including a Nikon D300, Nikon D70, Nikon S50 Point & Shoot, and possibly my iPhone. I'm looking forward to the challenge of shooting images everyday and pushing myself to become a better photographer... one day at a time!

J MAN STUDIOS > March 20, 2009 - March Madness! This was the view from my seat during the 1st round of the NCAA Basketball tournament at University of Dayton Arena. Shot with my iPhone (bummer you can't bring in the big guns) and run through TiltShift app for the final image.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 19, 2009 - This photo is of the tail lights of a new Pontiac GTO. I really liked the depth of field that was produced along the left side of the car as well as the bokeh in the background. Bumped up the levels and color saturation a bit in Aperture. Shot hand-held with a Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/125 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 18, 2009 - Another nice day here in N. Kentucky so I took advantage of the spring weather to take a stroll thru the neighborhood while the sun was setting. I liked the shape of this tree sillouetted against the setting sun. Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/3200 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 17, 2009 - Mid-70's today, so the family and I took a nice walk together this evening. Captured this image of some red buds on a tree in the neighborhood. It's really nice to finally see some color coming back and winter giving way to spring. Added a vignette in post to create final composition. Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/3200 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 16, 2009 - Grabbed this photo on my way out of the Audi dealership today on my iPhone. I thought these banners looked pretty cool with the photos on the wall behind. Ran the image through TiltShift app to produce the final result.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 15, 2009 - Today the NCAA basketball tournament selections took place, which means that March Madness will be starting soon. In that spirit, I decided to capture something to get me in the mood. I came up with this simple image of a basketball... I thought it could make a decent stock photo! Should I submit it? Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/640 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 14, 2009 - I've been wanting to play with selective coloring recently so I captured this image of a bowl of oranges to work with. I learned a new trick by using the Dodge & Burn plug-in to desaturate & saturate the colors directly within Aperture 2, which is a big time-saver. Let me know what you think! J MAN STUDIOS > March 13, 2009 - Took a stroll around MainStrausse in Covington, KY after a morning meeting. I found this cool gritty lamp on the side of Chez Nora Restraunt. I liked the textrues and overall composition of the image as well as the depth of field & sweet bokeh! Hope you enjoy it too! Slowed down the shutter-speed to blur the motion and bumped up the ISO to increase the grain. Ran the image through Color Efex Pro Bi-Color filter to complete the post-processing effect. Enjoy! Slowed down the shutter-speed to blur the motion and bumped up the ISO to increase the grain. Ran the image through Color Efex Pro Bi-Color filter to complete the post-processing effect. Enjoy!
