Documenting 2009 one picture a day! I will be shooting with a variety of camera's for this project including a Nikon D300, Nikon D70, Nikon S50 Point & Shoot, and possibly my iPhone. I'm looking forward to the challenge of shooting images everyday and pushing myself to become a better photographer... one day at a time!

J MAN STUDIOS > March 11, 2009 - A much colder day today, but was able to capture this outdoor scene after dropping my son off at basketball practice this evening. This lake sits by the kids school and is regularly frequented by Canadian Geese. Minor post processing in Aperture for color saturation and levels. Love to hear what you think!

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/2.8 with a shutter speed of 1/2500 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 9, 2009 - Another spring-like day today with highs in the 70s. My daughter was out riding her bike and just looked too cute with her helmet and sunglasses on to resist shooting her. No major processing done to the image, just bumped up the color saturation a bit.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/4.5 with a shutter speed of 1/2000 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 9, 2009 - Things are finally starting to green up a bit around here with tempertures reaching into the 60's the past few days. I captured this image of some ivy hanging from a tree in our front yard during the late afternoon hours. I thought the scene had nice lighting and bokeh.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm lens at f/3.5 with a shutter speed of 1/60 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 8, 2009 - This pansy was one of the first signs to me that spring is in the air. Shot outside of a Parker's Restaurant in Blue Ash, OH. The image was captured & edited directly on my iPhone using a combination of apps including ColorSplash, TiltShift and CameraBag. I am really pleased with the final result... Let me know what you think! Comments welcomed.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 7, 2009 - My brother Justin surprised his daughter Rosie on her birthday today by showing up at her party as Rudy - the mascot for the University of Dayton. I captured these two images right as he entered the party... priceless! Photos like these are what photography is all about... capturing the moment!

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 18-70mm lens. Editing in Aperture and compositing in Photoshop.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 6, 2009 - Captured this image of a referee during a time-out at my son's basketball game. I liked the depth of field and the overall composition of the photo. Let me know what you think!

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200 VR lens at f/5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/100 sec and ISO of 1600.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 5, 2009 - I had some time before my haircut this evening to walk around Mt. Lookout Square and grabbed a pretty cool shot of this neon sign hanging in front of Million's Cafe. Normally I don't care for elements such as cable & wires in my scenes, but after reviewing this image, I liked the lines they added to the photo.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/7.1 and a shutter speed of 1/400 sec and ISO of 400.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 2, 2009 - I headed out tonight looking for an interesting perspective of this evening's sunset. I went down into a valley near my house that gave me a nice panoramic view of a cloud-front moving into the area. Bumped up the color saturation just a bit in post to bring out the colors.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200 VR lens at f/11 and a shutter speed of 1/125 sec at ISO 800.
J MAN STUDIOS > March 2, 2009 - Keeping with the Sky theme this week, I captured the sun setting this evening on the Ohio River. I headed out a bit late and didn't know what was going to be left of the color. Thankfully there was enough light remaining for a pretty dramatic final image.

Shot hand-held with the Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200 VR lens at f/5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/100 sec and ISO of 1600.
