Documenting 2009 one picture a day! I will be shooting with a variety of camera's for this project including a Nikon D300, Nikon D70, Nikon S50 Point & Shoot, and possibly my iPhone. I'm looking forward to the challenge of shooting images everyday and pushing myself to become a better photographer... one day at a time!

J MAN STUDIOS > February 1, 2009 - I waited all day for this image hoping that the Steelers would come through with their 6th Super Bowl Championship... And they didn't let me down! Shot with my iPhone during the presentation of the Lombardi trophy at the conclusion of the Super Bowl... Via the TV screen of course. Maybe someday I could shoot at a Supet Bowl ;-)
J MAN STUDIOS > January 31, 2009 - January is in the books and I was 31 for 31! In this image, the branches of this tree, encased with ice from the winter storm earlier this week, seem frozen in time against the winter sunset. This should be the last in this series of winter photos as the temperture is supposed to rise into the 40's tomorrow. Halleluja!

Shot hand-held with the Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/4 and a shutter speed of 1/200 sec and ISO of 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 30, 2009 - The skies finally cleared today in Cincinnati and the ice on the trees really came to life. It was so nice to see blue skies as opposed to the dull grey sky of the past week. This small tree was shot in early morning light and I really liked the contrast of the tree against the snowy ground and of course that blue sky!

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens at f/5 and a shutter speed of 1/1600 sec and ISO of 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 29, 2009 - Keeping with the winter/ice theme I shot this night image of an iced up tree in our driveway while a light snow was falling. The tree was lit with the headlights of my car. Best viewed at a larger image size that allows you to see more detail.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens at f/4 with a shutter speed of 1/60 sec. at ISO 200. Heavy post-processing in Aperture was used to boost levels, adjust contrast and add definition to the photo.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 28, 2009 - It was ridiculously hard to pick one image today as I shot around 100 or so images today after a huge ice & snow storm dumped on the Greater Cincinnati region last night and this morning. I thought this photo intimatey captured the details of the day as ice and snow froze the needles of this pine tree. I have many more images that you are welcome to view as part of my snOMG gallery at: http://tr.im/de73

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/2.8 with a shutter speed of 1/3200 sec and ISO of 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 27, 2009 - The winter theme continues as 4-6 inches of snow dumped on the Greater Cincinnati area last night. Of course, school was closed and the first thing the kids wanted to do was go sledding. This was my favorite image of the day... my son Bailey trudging up the steep hill in out backyard with sled in tow. If you look at the large image you can see the snow shaking off his legs. I like little details like that.

Shot hand-held with the Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/3.2 with a shutter speed of 1/4000 sec and ISO of 800.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 26, 2009 - I had a jam packed day today and didn't get around to taking my photo until after the sun went down. I decided to see what I could do with the series of lights on columns running down our snowy driveway. If you look closely you'll see that I also captured the lights of a car driving past in the background... not planned, which makes it even cooler!

Shot on a tripod with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens at f/11 with a shutter speed of 4.0 secs and ISO of 1600.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 25, 2009 - The snow fell rapidly this morning and started to accumulate within the railings on our deck. With a wide aperture, I was able to completely blur out the snow covered ground below allowing the form of the railing and trapped snow to be the centerpiece of this image. I really like the stark contrast of the railing against the white background, while you can still see the snow crystals.

Shot hand-held with Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/1.8 and a shutter speed of 1/5000 sec and ISO of 800.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 24, 2009 - I had an outing today with some colleagues and their families at Perfect North Slopes for an afternoon of snow tubing! My son Bailey and I had an awesome time riding the ice. I snapped this photo in the late afternoon as the sun was setting from my iPhone. Added a blur effect and ran thru the Lolo filter in Camera Bag app to achieve final image.
