J MAN STUDIOS > March 19, 2009 - This photo is of the tail lights of a new Pontiac GTO. I really liked the depth of field that was produced along the left side of the car as well as the bokeh in the background. Bumped up the levels and color saturation a bit in Aperture.

Shot hand-held with a Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/125 sec at ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > February 23, 2009 - My four year old daughter drew this fantastic picture this evening. While I was shooting her drawing, she asked me to take a picture of her artwork. I honored her request and she said she liked it... I told her it would be my photo of the day and be on the internet. She was so excited! Things that caught my eye about the photo was the interesing perspective, the deph of field and the grain from the high ISO.

Shot hand-held with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/1.8 and a shutter speed of 1/50 sec and ISO of 100.
J MAN STUDIOS > February 22, 2009 - Today we celebrated my son Bailey's 11th birthday with the family. I got a quick shot of the birthday cake that my wife baked as it was being lit. Wish the aperture was a little smaller to keep all of the type sharp, but I really liked the bokeh in the background. Let me know what ya think!

Shot hand-held with Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at an aperture of f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/20 of a sec and ISO 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > February 20, 2009 - Had a little fun with some creative exposure today. Didn't even look through the viewfinder for this one... just held the camera down as close to the ground as possible and let the auto-focus do the rest. I was really happy with the shallow depth-of-field created in front of the boots with having the camera just off the ground. The setting sun also created some nice color in the background. Let me know what you think!

J MAN STUDIOS > January 23, 2009 - My son asked me to take him to the library this afternoon, so I figured I bring along the camera and see what I could shoot. Of course I wound up in the photography isle and found a book title appropriately "Photography in Focus" which I chose as the subject of this photo. I ran the image thru a filter in post to give it the grainy, stylized effect. Any feedback on this image is appreciated.

J MAN STUDIOS > January 21, 2009 - I saw a photo at an IHOP restaurant that I visited recently of a kid playing checkers that gave me the idea for this photo. I didn't like the checkerboard we have, so I pulled out this nice wooden chess set and grabbed my son to create this image.

Shot hand-held with the Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens at f/1.8 with a shutter speed of 1/50 sec and ISO of 800. Converted to black & white in Aperture.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 16, 2009 - I was taking some shots this afternoon on a bridge that crosses some train tracks (which also made for some pretty interesting shots as well) when I noticed this bottle of Budweiser just resting on the railing. It's cool what your eye catches when you're actively looking for something to photography and I knew that I could get some really shallow depth of field. I figured that since it was Friday, it made for a fitting image of the day. TGIF!

Shot hand-held with Nikon D70 and Nikkor 50mm 1:8 lens at f/2.8 and a shutter speed of 1/640 sec and ISO of 800.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 8, 2009 - With Cincinnati winter in full effect this week... meaning grey skies and cold drab weather, I went looking for some color anywhere today. I found a playground nearby that had some colorful animal swings that contrasted nicely off the white snow.

Shot hand-held with Nikon D70 and 50mm 1:8 lens in Aperture priority mode at f/2.8 with a camera selected shutter speed of 1/80 sec and ISO setting of 200.
J MAN STUDIOS > January 5, 2009 - This image was captured during a photo-walk around the Clifton, OH area near the University of Cincinnati. Thankfully, Rotte was nowhere to be found during the taking of the picture! The photo was captured with a Nikon D70 and 50mm lens with an aperture of f/2.8 and a shutter speed of 1/1000.
